Welcome to our website

The Travel Doctor web site was originally founded by a doctor and a pharmacist from Pontypridd in South Wales.

With extensive experience of foreign travel to exotic locations where they have taken part in various expeditions and adventure holidays and ideally placed to prescribe and dispense medicines they teamed up to give you the:-

These days the site is maintained by Peter Rees the pharmacist partner (below). The doctor (Geoff Lloyd) is currently involved in another project in Africa.
In the mean time both partners are still in regular contact.

Peter studied pharmacy at the Welsh School of Pharmacy in Cardiff and qualified in 1980. Since then Peter has gained over thirty years experience as a community pharmacist spending six years with the Boots company as a pharmacist /manager and the remainder as a self employed pharmacist working in South Wales.

He has been an active hill walker since the mid 70's and has climbed extensively in Snowdonia in North Wales and in the Scottish Highlands. During this time he completed a course in mountain leadership at Plas-Y-Brenin in Snowdonia and further courses in winter hillwalking and winter mountaineering at Glenmore Lodge in Scotland. Peter has helped to organise trekking expeditions to Annapurna and the Everest region in Nepal, Kilimanjaro and the Inca Trail in the Peruvian Andes. He has also been white water rafting in Australia, Nepal and Peru and has organised photographic safaris in Kenya and Tanzania.

In the mid 80's he took up sport diving and he now holds the SAA Dive Supervisor, CMAS 3 Star and PADI Divemaster qualifications. Peter is an underwater photographer and is currently the President of Llantrisant Sub-Aqua Club. He has organised numerous diving trips to the Red Sea, The Great Barrier Reef, The Maldives, Cuba ,Costa Rica, East Africa, Thailand, Burma and the Philippines.
